ive been studying since february as a full-time undergrad and was consistently around the high 160s-low 170s for tests. just got my score and it's a 162.

i don't know what went wrong? i know the score itself is fine, but it is so far off my expectations. i don't know where to go from here. i've been so over this test ever since i took it in august -- how do i get back to studying?

Hey all, I was scoring higher on PTs but got a 154 on the august. I'm thinking of retaking just for a chance for some better scholarship money from my schools. I know I'm ok with my 154 but I want that extra chance. I am thinking of registering for November and then scores release on Nov 24th. Is this a decent amount of time to rack up a few points more hopefully and apply? Do I need to cancel my August score (I got score preview) or just do a retake? I'm assuming I just sign up for another one to retake and the other score will be available on apps.

Hi everyone-

During undergrad (graduated near 5 years ago), I argued with a campus safety officer. As a result, I was called into the Director of Residential Education's office to explain my side of the story. No disciplinary action resulted from the conversation.

Recently, I requested any documentation relating to my disciplinary record. Per school policy, documentation is destroyed 4 years following a students graduation. Thus, I am unable to confirm any specifics regarding the situation. And quite frankly- I forget near everything of that event- it took place near 7 years ago.

Any recommendation as to how to tackle this?

Thanks!

I took a PT cold and tested at 153 a few months ago and got 167 on August Flex after using Blueprint and 7Sage. I'd like to get into a T14 preferably with scholarship money (or even T20 with full ride). Do you think this score is high enough? I'm 35 years old, have MBA and a decade of professional experience, 3.86 undergrad GPA, non URM (Asian).

Just received my August LSAT Flex score. I had been studying since May / Early June, while working an internship at the beginning of my studies.

I come from a political background, worked in politics, and have a 3.7 GPA. My diagnostic was a 142 in April. And I began PT'ing from 159-162 all summer . . . (which is okay since I am Canadian and honestly was aiming for 160's). My final official score was a 149. Since it was my first time taking the LSAT, I signed up for score preview and cancelled that immediately!

Overall, I feel really bad about myself to say the least.. and I don't really think my family and friends understand the challenges and nuances of the test ... which is fine but overall, feeling very low and alone. Don't really know what else to say except that I still really want to go to law school, as my whole life has been working up to this point. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things, since i took the past 2 weeks as a break (I never really took breaks this summer) and hopefully since I registered as a back-up for the November the test I can get back to PT'ing in the 160's.

I usually did timed sections, did not really do as much blind review of ALL answers on PT's . . . only the ones I got wrong.

I honestly just want a 165 and my sanity back.

Any tips from those who have had retake? Maybe studying tips or a study group... I don't know.

Also, I am applying this cycle. So I am also stressed with essay writing and now studying. So, time management tips also welcome.

Thanks for listening.

So I am signed up for the oct LSAT but honestly might want to wait until November to take it. I saw on their website that you can opt for a voucher that is good for any lsats from nov 2020- april 2021. Does anyone know how to notify the LSAT to let them know that you want the voucher?

Will we get notified when our course is expiring and when we need to make the next payment? @"Juliet --Student Service--" - Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice on what I should do. I got a 150 on the August lsat, and would really like to improve towards the low 160s, I have the option to cancel my score and don't know if I should. Also, I am thinking of either taking the November or January exam, but feel like I do not have that much time for the November as I am in school full-time right now. What do you guys think?

just got my results for the august flex and was about 3-4 points off what I needed/wanted. Really disappointing to see it because I went through a rough 4 and half months and wanted to just never look at the lsat again. I know it would probably be best to take again but like i dont even know where to start or what to do for prep until the november test. I am a senior in school now so I have other work to worry about and an internship so I cant even put all my attention on it like i did this summer. The score I got is about 4 points off the 25 percentile in my top three schools so it would be a reach, but my gpa is just under the 75th percentile so not sure if i should roll the dice or just prep and take again. helppppp

Hi there!

If you are seeking a tutor for logic games, you have come to the right place. I have yet to take the LSAT (working on other sections), however, I have conquered the games section. I can provide proof of my scores on various game sets. I can help with any type of game and I will create a custom study schedule for you based on your needs. If you are interested, please message me for more details.

I look forward to helping you reach your LG goals!

Hello all!

I have taken 5 (FLEX format) PTs (PT 1-5), I have not taken any recent PTs or seen LR questions from recent PTs. My average was 160 but I have seen some of the questions on these exams except for RC section.

My goal score is 165+

I am very comfortable with LG (0 ~ -2 timed but am taking a big hit in RC -12+ timed and -7~ -8 blind review.

LR is okay. (-4 ~ -8 timed). I know I have most to be gained from studying RC since my score is so low and that is precisely what I am doing. After some studying my timed have gone down from -14ish to -9 ~ -11, my BR score has improved as well, -2 ~ -5

The reason I feel rushed to take the Nov is because I don't feel comfortable taking 5-section exam in general even though I am signed up for Jan LSAT.

To be honest I just want to take November because I don't think there will be anymore 3-section exams. I figured, if I don't hit the goal score in Nov, I can study for another 6 months and prepare for the 5-section exam.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! And, good luck to those taking the exam soon!

I am going to take the LSAT this October and January, but I have one concern. The priority deadline of the school I want to apply for is until February 1st, and the results of the January test are likely to come out around February 7th. The school said that the January exam is also accepted, but is there a big disadvantage?

Does anyone have any advice on getting LG down from -3 average to -1/0? I am currently averaging -2 on both LR and RC, so this is the only thing holding my score back from my goals. I have done every game from PT 1-35 multiple times and am not sure how to proceed. Should I continue taking full PTs and redoing the new games? I would not say i'm struggling with any particular game type, but I tend to make 1 costly error like misreading a rule and losing a ton of time before figuring it out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey all, I recently started working with @tmh5947 & he is AMAZING! He's a pro in Logic Games, I was so overwhelmed learning LG, but Tyler made it less tedious and easy to understand! The best part is, for those on a budget like me, he only charges $25 and hour. The first half hour is free, so it's $12 for the first session! Tyler's super sweet and is EXTREMELY knowledgable. This is not an advertisement, I truly work with Tyler, and I couldn't be happier. For anyone who wants to reach out, his e-mail is tmh5947@psu.edu

You WON'T be disappointed.

Hi,

I finished a PT and the result showed as tho I'd left a bunch of questions blank, which I hadn't, then I sent a msg to tech support to 7 sage, and did the same PT again, the same thing happened but this time the error started with an earlier question, it even said on the results section where the error started and from that question onwards none of my answers were recorded, now the discussion page is glitching for me, I tried a different browser and same thing. Have you experienced this? I wonder if it's an error on my end of 7 sage's software, I hope it can be resolved soon so I can resume studying. I hope I will hear from 7 sage soon.

Thank you!

So I just scored a 161 on PT 63, and this is honestly the equivalent of a 170 plus for me. I Know this level of score will almost certainly get me into a Canadian school and that's all that matters to me at the end of the day.

This came after four months of studying basically full time. After starting off with a 144 diagnostic. Yet, I can't shake the feeling it's a fluke somehow? I can't help but feel maybe I got lucky. Which doesn't seem to be the case because my past three PTs have been 158, 158 and now 161.

From the very beginning I've been doubting myself. Telling myself I'd be happy with a 155, just to have some chance.

Anyone else experience this sort of self doubt and how did you crush it?

I'm tired of part of me thinking I'm not good enough to well on this test. What can I do?

So I was really surprised by a declined request for a recommendation from a grad school professor who has written several excellent recommendations for post grad programs for me before. They said it would not be helpful coming from them. When I asked why they declined I got this rough reasoning.

A. I finished grad school 4 years ago with an interdisciplinary MA in 2016 so there is a time gap.

B. They are a history professor and do not think a recommendation would be valuable for this reason.

C. They have been hating life in academia (understandable because academia is rough these days and the administration there was awful) and plan to leave academia entirely in 2021. They feel that since they will no longer be working in academia next year the recommendation will be worthless.

The reason I asked them is because they are the professor that knew me best in grad school and can speak not only about my academic performance (they were my thesis advisor) but also personal obstacles I overcame. Perhaps it is lip service, but my understanding is that graduate schools are looking for diverse academic backgrounds and would hardly turn up their noses at a recommendation from a published socio-cultural history professor. Actually, in retrospect, my concern is that the undergrad professor I went to for a law school rec was also a history professor and this does not show the breadth of my studies with two interdisciplinary degrees, but I think on the whole that is negated by my close relationship with both.

B: For a mature, mid 30's grad like myself 4 years hardly seems like a large gap in time for an academic recommendation. Law schools would, I assume, probably be happy to have an academic rec letter from a mature applicant, again, especially because they can write well about me.

As for C, that one I can see perhaps mattering but, especially for mature applicants, it would not be uncommon that a professor has retired since they left school, which doesn't seem much different to me? I know for grad school I asked a retired former professor for a rec letter and they complied with a strong one.

I am inclined to make these points and ask again, but before I do I wanted to hear what other people who may be more informed than I think. I will also probably send some anonymous emails to the schools I am looking at.

If you aren't bored yet, background below.

Hi everyone,

For the past year, we’ve been working on a major project. The premise is simple. Law school professors know a lot about the law. We know a little about teaching. What if we joined forces?

The result is Law School Explained, a series of video and audio lessons that walk you through the basics of a typical 1L curriculum. Instead of making you infer the law by reading hundreds of cases, we just, well, explain it—and by “we,” I mean “top professors from around the country.” We’ve broken the lessons into small, digestible units. Think of our course as a primer, preview, and supplement that you can watch on the couch or listen to when you go for a run.

We’re working on eight different subjects: Property, Criminal Law, Torts, Con Law, Civil Procedure, Legal Writing, Contracts, and a forthcoming class about how to succeed in law school. So far, we’ve published about a hundred animated video lessons and nearly two hundred audio lessons. Although we’re producing more content each week, we’re finally ready to share this. Here’s how it works:

You can subscribe to our audio and video lessons for $16 per month, or you can subscribe to our audio lessons alone for $9 per month.

With either option, you’ll be able to listen to them right from our website. If you subscribe to the video lessons, you’ll also be able to watch the animations on our website. And with both options, you’ll get access to new content as we publish it.

We’re eager to hear what you think!
