So a Professor I asked a letter for had me amend the form multiple times as per them moving around and what not, but now I'm worried about the letter number on the form. Do law schools care if it says L8 for example on the letter form even though I have like 3 recommenders?

So for example, if the deadline is Dec 1 for X University's early binding deadline, would there be an advantage for someone who submits on Nov 15 over Nov 29?

Hello everyone. I have some questions regarding when and how to explain a GPA below a school’s median.

Essentially, I was majoring in Biology during my freshman year of college which was something kinda pushed onto me by my parents and not something I wanted to pursue. In addition to this, I moved houses during my very first semester of college and COVID hit during the middle of my second semester. After performing poorly these first 2 semester in college I decided to switch majors to Psychology and went on to earn an A in every single class I took from there until I graduated. Unfortunately, the failing grades I earned those semesters are counted by the LSAC’s cumulative GPA despite me graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.98 GPA. This brings my LSAC GPA to a 3.45. I know, yikes.

Is this something worth writing an addendum for? How will law school view me switching majors and my drastic change in grades?

I have asked a former professor for a letter of recommendation and he accepted to write it. I want to send him a package including all the relevant materials for the application. I do not have my personal statement yet, but I thought of writing a reflection notes on what I learned from his class, and how that is going to help me in law school. I couldn't find more information on this, but is this a good idea? Will the notes help the professor in any way while writing the LOR?

One of the main things that pushed me to law and wanting to become a lawyer was seeing one of my close family members grapple with addiction and how it affected me and my family. Is this an appropriate topic to write about for my personal statement or should I try to do something else?

Not sure if anyone has experience with this but if we apply in the Work/Life Experience category (other factors are given more weight than GPA), would we still be considered under the General Applicants category depending on the nature of your non-academic experience? It does not say anything on their website.

I'm wondering where the best place is to discuss a Senior Thesis on a résumé. I am planning to place this in my education section, but I'm struggling with how much detail to include in the description or if I should place it in a different section altogether.

Obviously, no admission committee is going to take the time to read such a long piece of text, but can anyone offer advice on how to highlight the work done in academic research? Thank you!

I applied to CLS/Chi quite a few times about 3-5 years ago, last time in 2019-2020 cycle.

I used PS-1 the first time and a different PS-2 in later apps over a few years.

Since then my score has expired and I retook this Oct.

All my other application material (Recs, Resume etc) is pretty much the same. I can't get another rec from elsewhere.

Is it ok to reuse the PS, or do I need to write an entirely "fresh" one?

What if I reuse PS-1 which wasn't the latest PS i reapplied with earlier, how much difference would it make compared to writing a new one?

I'm applying to UofT law and am struggling with the optional essay.

They recommend speaking about one of four suggested topics, but I'm struggling with selecting the one that fits best, as I already speak to my future ambitions in my personal statement.

One of the options is diversity. I'm of Lebanese origin and grew up in Dubai. Is there any way this would be an acceptable ground for diversity, or is it best to go with another topic?

If you don't get selected for an interview with Harvard, does that mean that you have been rejected?

Just received my November LSAT score and definitely did not do as well as I hoped. I scored about 10 points under what I as PTing which is extremely frustrating. Some of the schools I was looking at are a bit out of reach now. I plan on retaking in January but is it worth it to try applying to some schools if I am over their median/75th percentile GPA but now barely making the 25th percentile on their LSAT scores? Or should I just wait until I retake in January?

C+ (75~79) - 2.5

C0 (70~74) - 2.0

D+ (65~69) - 1.5

Recently a school reached out to me and requested transcripts for a Paralegal certification course I took after college. The course is two separate 7-week classes. However due to finals and my legal internship I did not take them back-to-back which is why I correctly put 05/21 to 10/21 on my resume. I have two pieces of evidence to prove this. The transcript shows 05/21 to 08/21 because I guess they just count it as two consecutive courses.

I'm conflicted about if I should reach out to admissions or not. On one hand I feel like it might not be a huge deal but on the other hand I feel like if they admissions committee thinks I'm just outright lying on my resume for no reason it can jeopardize my acceptance chances.

I received another letter of recommendation on LSAC after I had already submitted my report with LSAC. I want to include this letter, but am unsure if LSAC will send it after the report was already sent. Does anyone know if LSAC will send the new letter to the schools I have already applied to? I have not received a decision from any of the schools as of yet.

So I've heard multiple people say that because of the economic state that this coming cycle (open in fall 2023) will be absolutely packed. Does anyone else agree/disagree?

So, I studied abroad twice, earning a total of roughly 30 credits. I studied abroad in two different countries with programs administered by two different (U.S. based) organizations The grades I earned studying abroad show up on my transcript and have been factored into my GPA, however, they are still noted to be off-campus programs.

Will my study abroad grades be factored into my LSAC GPA?

I've applied to four law school in the Illinois/Indiana region back in late November and still haven't heard back from any of them (despite a huge range in rankings for these schools), not even an indication on when they might make their decision or reach out to me... Nothing.

Should I be concerned?
