Hey y'all. Hoping to get a few people's opinions on how I should utilize the next 3 months prior to sitting for the June exam.

A little background first: I sat for the September17 exam after self-studying with the Kaplan books for a few months. I was PTing all over the 160s prior to the exam but ended up scoring a 160 on the real thing. I did alright on the LG and LR sections but got killed on the RC section which was already my most volatile section.

I started studying with 7Sage in December (and got a new diagnostic of 162 after not studying for a few months... sigh) and have made my way through the CC and am currently fool-proofing LG and already seeing some improvement! So here's my predicament. I work full-time and share responsibility with my parents helping out my brother. AKA I'm busy like a lot of other people are. My current strategy for fool-proofing is doing one new PT of games per day (studying 6 days per week). At this rate I should be winding down the FPing in the beginning of April and then I can do a little RC and LR review before hitting PTs until June.

My problem is that this way I really only have time to do LR and RC problems on the weekends and even that can be exhausting. I currently average around -5 per sections so I don't have any immediate stand-out weaknesses other than my RC scores have always been all over the board. For this reason I'm afraid to spend so much time devoted to LG without really giving the other sections much attention. I'm trying to decide if I should extend the FP process by a doing fewer new games each day so I also have time to hit a RC passage and a few LR questions each night. If I do this I won't finish FPing until late April and then I'll only have a little over a month to PT. Prior to taking the September test I probably took around 10 PTs so I'm not totally unfamiliar with the timing of the test, but I'm worried about only doing 5-6 PTs before the real thing.

Oh, and I recently got accepted into the Peace Corps! Which is very exciting! But also means the June test is my only option before I leave.

Edit:: Also my goal is high 160s

Planning on taking the September 2018, unless I just feel so confident that I decide to take June/July, so I will FINALLY be able to study full time during the summer and would love a study/accountability buddy especially if you will be PT-ing during the summer. I would also love to know if anyone has a specific study schedule that they follow for studying full time, I have never had the opportunity to do anything but work full time and study once I got home so I am really trying to make that before I make the transition from working 8 hours a day to studying most of the day because I know myself, and I know that without structure my time tends to fly by. If you have a day/study schedule with extensive detail that would be amazing and any other suggestions, tips what to-dos , and what NOT to-do list please share!

I am three years out of college and have been working full time. I studied for the LSAT for about six months before taking it in December on top of my 40 hour work week. I hadn’t done as many practice tests as I would’ve liked, but I’ve always been aiming to get into the 170+ range. I was PTing around 165 with a few 168s and scored a 162 :(.

I had only used the Powerscore Bibles, so I feel like with more practice and purchasing the actual 7sage course I could probably break 170s... my issue is motivation. It was just so draining studying on top of my work week and having to sacrifice self-care and fun to make time to study. It was also so disappointing and discouraging getting that score. I dread doing another six months of that and have had so much trouble motivating myself to do it and fear getting the same results.

I guess I just need some advice, help please!

Hey all!

I'm currently struggling with something that honestly shouldn't even be an issue - I have nothing to do anymore.

I've completed all apps and just (painfully) waiting for the LSAT to come out this Wednesday evening like many of you. I think I'm having issues of just trying to "relax" because honestly I don't know how or what to do that can make me relax.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do either in terms of 1) law school related stuff, or 2) relaxation stuff to keep my mind busy?

much thanks to all!

Any advice on how to get better at LR 4/5 star difficulty Q's? I'm like -7 for LR (both sections) and almost all of the 7 wrong are all level 4/5 questions. The 7 wrong are also kinda scattered throughout question types.

I find that many of them I can't get right in blind review, and it also sometimes takes me a LONG time just to process and think through it -- even after reading an answer explanation or watching the video explanation.

How can I expect or get to a point where I can get to -0 or -1 in LR and get these 4/5 difficulty questions with speed and confidence?

Hey!

Thought it would be a good idea for us to have a place to chat about preparing for the June test outside the specific BR call posts :)

Hope you will post here for us all to stay together as a support system for each other (3(/p)

I emailed one of the admissions counselor to meet with her, I have not heard back anything. I wanted to re-email and ask for an interview date again (as I have heard many students are doing this prior to admission to law school). Any advice on politely emailing and meeting with admissions counselor?

Apologies in advance for this horrible question. But while signing up for an LSAC account, if you're a non-URM, should you still check whatever caucasian/white boxes you fit and "yes - report my information" to law schools? Or check the caucasian/white boxes and "no - DO NOT report my information" to law schools? Or is it best to just check the decline to respond box altogether? Ack.

In terms of physical likeness, the individual tests for purchase ie 80, 81,82 etc. ,how do they resemble actual test-day tests?

Are they exactly what to expect? if not what differences are there?

and to be clear not regarding the test itself, those booklets.

I ask because if I have the booklets (those thin ones from amazon) I should definitely use those for my first PT as oppose to printing them, obviously?

I was planning to anyway, but just wanted to know if there are any differences?

I heard a rumor that employment history is required to sit for the bar, therefore its required to list on your applications. Does anyone know if this is true? I was told I have to list fast food employment from 20 years ago and if I don't when the BLE looks at tax returns I will be denied for lying about employment. Does anyone have any info on this?

7Sage Community,

I have been studying since mid November for the June LSAT. I work full time and I am engaged, thus time has been rare to come by. After grinding it out week in and week out while "maintaining" a somewhat decent sleep schedule...I am about to start PT'ing.

I wanted to share this to give support to those that think they are never going to get there in their studying. I was one of the ones that thought I would slap the diagnostic, but to my utter shock I bombed it. I did not even score my test I was so confused and out of the loop.

Now after taking my time and trying to get concepts down before moving on I am going to take my first PT. The combination of nerves, excitement, and anxiety is really something. I know I am going to do well, but how well? I know this for sure: I have put my best foot forward.

Any of you out there that think your dreams can not come true are just wrong. Apply yourself and believe (sounds like a corny disney movie)!

Thank you for you continued support in this "journey" that is the mini mental breakdowns of LSAT prep.

Looking forward to this next step in the grind!

Best,

PT 1 - 4 - 21 MBT

I have a question regarding about conditional logic.

I was able to make the conditional statement from the stimulus as to [ no Laws ----> no Crimes]. Then the contrapositive of this should be Crime -------> Laws.

A. Laws ---> Crime

B. no crimes -------> no laws

C. many laws --------> many crimes

D. some crimes -------> some laws

E. many crimes --------> many laws.

I looked at the answer choices and eliminated A, B, and C for the reasons that they are not satisfying the sufficient condition of the "Crime" (for the contrapositive of original satement). Then, I looked at the answer choice D and saw it as a contender, but I saw E had the same meaning with the indicatior "many."

I am so confused now since I believed that some and many have the equal meaning in conditional logic. (some/many = 0 - 50)

Perhaps I made a mistake in making the conditional statement from the stimulus and made a wrong reason to pick the answer choice D.

I will appreciate any help!

Thank you!

Since everyone is stressing about the LSAT results for Feb coming out this week (me included) I thought I'd add some fun into remembering our exam. I'd always read that there's ALWAYS someone who forgets to bring a pencil/the right kind of pencil into the exam and has to borrow. I thought it was a myth, but then there was actually someone who only brought mechanical pencils into my exam!

So what about you guys? Did your LSAT experience (whether in February or not) bolster or disprove the myth?

Hey guys,

I have been trying to write my personal statement for the past few weeks, but I feel stuck. I know more or less what I want to write about, but I feel pretty overwhelmed considering the fact that I'm supposed to 1. grip the reader within the first sentence 2. make myself sound likable, thoughtful, unique, etc, person that makes admissions officers want me at their school 3. tell a story about overcoming an obstacle, and how I grew because of said obstacle 4. discuss my reasons for pursuing a legal education and my goals for the future..... all in less than 3 pages.

I suppose I do have a decent athlete/injury story to tell that conveys my perseverance, but I am honestly still kind of bitter about it, and I am quite self deprecating and pessimistic, so drawing out the "how I grew from what happened/ why I am a better person now" part is a struggle, and composing something about how I'm so awesome is just agonizing. I'm also having a ton of difficulty with the intro, as well as narrowing down my explanation of what happened (I am trying to use one event in my athletic career to summarize the numerous years of injuries). Also, I do not have much on my resume to back up my reasons for going to law school, since I decided that I wanted to go to law school when I was in my senior year of college.

So yeah... I want some guidance/ help, but I can't afford to pay someone $200 an hour. Are there any more affordable options in terms of personal, one on one guidance/ counseling? I know there are free resources on the web, but I want something a bit more personalized.

Thanks for your help

I'm in need of a morale booster. I feel bad about the feb lsat. So, I had been extensively studying for a retake in Feb, and furthermore had shown a lot of improvment (especially in LR). I was consistently getting the number correct on each section ( and often even more) that I needed for my goal score. However, I had major insomnia the night before the lsat, and that threw me off on test day. My brain was not as quick as normal, and I'm really worried that all of the improvement that I made got thrown out the window. I left on a bad "feeling" but I know that's not necessarily a good predictor of your score. I know that I improved leading up to the test- I'm just hoping that one day didn't ruin all of that. Hopefully, I improved by at least a couple points :/

Does 7sage lay down the basics for a newbie? I scored really low on my diagnostic test. I had honestly never even looked at an LSAT exam before- not an excuse but I know I have a TON of work ahead of me.

Looking to grasp a firm foundation before building on that.

Thank you!!

Hello 7sagers,

My name is Alex, and I will hopefully being applying to law school next year. After my undergrad, I decided to take some time off the academics and work full time. I worked for almost 4 years. My question to the community is this, I would prefer having letters of recommendations written by my former professors instead of my former employers, but I don't think any of my professors could even pick me out of a line up. How should I handle the situation?

:-/

i left the test feeling confident about scoring around my PT average ... give or take a few. [most likely “take a few”, but still]

with each passing day, especially these days nearing score release, i’m getting more and more sure that i got a 120.

We had "Recent Questions" box on the Dashboard that show comments in the lessons with "?" mark.

But sometimes the Recent Questions box would be filled with comments containing "?" that were not actually asking questions.

So now we have "Requests for #help" box on the Dashboard! Including "#help" in your comment signals for help from other students.

Clicking "#help" adds "#help" to your comment:

And your comment appears on the "Requests for #help" box!

This video shows how to do it!

I am currently 80% done with the Core Curriculum! I have done all of the practice sets and feel very strongly as of now. For the Logic Games, I have played each game 1-3 times and having shorthand fool proofed and watched explanations when needed.

Should I seriously Fool Proof then head into RC or finish CC then revisit Logic?

Testing in June with the Ultimate Package. I am very anxious to start PTing already, but any suggestions for mapping out the remaining 3 months or so to use my time/resources wisely?

I don't get why answer choices D could be true. Are you not supposed to consider the contrapositives of the answer choices or of what's in the stimulus? I would think in this question you especially would want to consider the contrapositives since the last sentence calls for you to contrapose the entire stim to match with /ID. I thought that the explanation JY gave to A) would be applicable to D) as well.

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-28-section-1-question-20/

Stimulus:

EW → PC

EW→UR→ID

Contra: /ID →/UR→/EW

/PC→/EW

Answer choices:

D) /EW→PC. contra: /PC→EW. Not sure how it is that this CBT. In the stim, /PC --> /EW.

How can it be consistent to say that when prices aren’t constant, the economy is both weak and not weak o.O

Is it that, as long as either the contrapositive or original statement in the answer choice could be true, then the answer choice could be true? The original statement in D) could be true...
