Hey all. Is anybody else taking the Feb 10 LSAT in San Francisco? What do you plan on doing with your cell phone? I assume most people just leave them in their cars, but I don't have a car and am on my bike. Would anybody be down to let me stash a small bag in their car before the test and then pick it up after? It would make my life way easier and would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Wanted to make this post after seeing @akistotle's post on movies to watch pre-test day.

For those who are taking the February test on Saturday, what are you planning on doing Friday? I'd love to hear about everyone's ~relaxation~ routine (and maybe steal your ideas). For those who have already written, what did you do the day before the test?

In the morning, I'm gonna get to the gym and get a really good, stress-relieving workout in. Gonna come home and make myself chocolate chip pancakes cause lord knows I haven't had time to make a decent breakfast in months. I booked a massage for myself at 11am cuz why not!! Then I'd like to go for a nice walk outside. Afterwards, I'll probably chill and read a book until dinner. I'll try to cook a nice meal and spend time with my family. Then, for the evening, I want to have a spa night with a bubble bath, candles, tea, and a cozy movie. Hopefully be in bed by 9 or 10pm because I am a grandma.

I've been looking forward to this day for months.

What are you planning on doing the day before the LSAT?

I have been having difficulty with the videos loading properly. Many times the videos won't play at all. It won't let me fast forward through the videos either. Getting really frustrated with it :(

Hi everyone!

So.. I have a withdraw on my transcripts from a billion years ago. It was due to time confliction and other reasons. My school did not count the withdraw as a fail or ding my gpa for it. I only spent a couple weeks in it, so was well within the acceptable withdraw time frame.

Would LSAC overlook this as it is "non-punitive", or will they punish me for dropping a class regardless?

On my transcripts, it looks like:

Art 199 Clay Sculpt. workshop Grade: A Repeat: N Attempted Credit: 3 Earned: 3 Pass: 0 GPA credits: 3 Quality points: 12

ENL 101 College Composition Grade: A Repeat: N Attempted Credit: 3 Earned: 3 Pass: 0 GPA credits: 3 Quality points: 12

WLD 125 Arc Welding I Grade: W Repeat: N Attempted Credit: 2 Earned: 0 Pass: 0 GPA credits: 0 Quality points: 0

Term totals: Attempted Credits: 8, Earned: 6, Pass: 0, GPA credits: 6, Quality points: 24, GPA: 4.00

I'm thinking it should be okay since it had no effect on the gpa, and wasn't a "Withdrawn/Failing". What say you?

And if it does, how would I go about maybe having this corrected at my CC so that it doesn't impact?

To all of you who are masters of SA's: do you diagram them on the actual exam? I feel that if I don't then, I won't get them correct. Should I diagram them on the exam, or do I just need more practice diagramming them in general

Hi everyone,

I'm currently registered to take the February 2018 LSAT but I'm incredibly worried that I have not prepared well enough! I took a majority of December off (truthfully, I took the whole month off) as I was visiting my family back home. I studied very hard for the whole month of January but I only just feel like the material is 'clicking'. My plan now is to take the test (to at least experience what it is like in true conditions) and then see how I feel afterwards (in the 6 days after) and potentially cancel the score (most likely cancel)... I'm worried, however, that schools will react negatively to a cancelled score? I will be applying to Canadian schools. I'm hoping to take the test once more in either the June/July sitting...

Thanks in advance for your opinions!! I appreciate it.

I've posted about this before, but have hit yet another road block and need some advice on how to proceed.

Back Story:

  • A community college I attended 10 years ago had an error on my transcript that I did not catch until I already applied. They fixed these errors and it changed the way my transcript looked, they rushed the transcript to the LSAC where the LSAC processed it. However, the LSAC processed the transcript incorrectly and are going to take at least another week or two to resolve it.
  • I've sent one e-mail to the schools I applied to letting them know my transcripts would change after my CC sent the right one. The transcripts did change, just not accurately. So now there will be a SECOND change to the transcripts.

So this is where I am stuck, do I e-mail the schools again saying "oh sorry, something else is messed up now" or do I just wait for it to get completely resolved? (I have no idea how long that will take) Will schools just auto-reject me because of this? This is absolutely insane...

The diff in GPA is 2.83 vs 3.1x if it is done correctly.

    This is absolutely killing me!

What the title says. I'm sure each of us had at least one passage that really piqued his or her interest, found amusing for one reason or another, turned his or her life upside down, etc.

I'm not a big fan of art passages, but I really liked the passages about perfume (PT 74) and Julia Margaret Cameron's photography (PT 73). The former was quite engaging, as I have never given a thought about perfume as an art form. As for the latter, I found its descriptions about unhappy children and sloppy decors hilarious.

I don't entirely understand why the answer is B and not E.

I think E probably is not the answer, in hindsight, because it is not "one writer's version of the theory" but at the same time the passage does say things like "She (Gilman) argued."

I have trouble with the "intellectual controversy" part of answer choice B, it didn't seem like a controversy to me, just an interpretation.

    Can anyone explain?

    Thx

Hey! So, has anyone here taken a formal logic course or found a source like Khan that does one? We hear all the time that this test it all logic, and even through grad school, I never had to take any form. I am wondering if it would be worth taking it as a non-credit class at a local college, but I am really hoping there is a great online resource with a class set up (ys, even if it costs money). Thank you so much in advance for your help!

    7Sage Community,

I am one of the many that is working full time and studying. I want to give a word of encouragement to those that are balancing a full work load and maintaining your studies. Remember that the study schedule is a guide, not the bible. Please make sure to take breaks and digest what you are taking in. If at all possible try and get some practice in at work, before work, or in transit to work (any little bit helps)....as I understand it can be difficult to stay up late after dinner and a long day of work.

Peace of mind and positivity are what will keep you going. Yes, you are going insane...but it will be worth it!

    Best,

    Jonah

J.Y., can you help us on this one? PT83.3.12 "In a scene in an ancient Greek play..."

Honestly, I was completely stumped on test day on this one and the answer choices still mostly seem irrelevant to me. I don't understand how to process it at all. Any insight?

I find that in RC (my worst section), I get a heinous amount of answers incorrect because I am overthinking and trying to absorb every single detail of the passage into my mind rather than just reading for the overall structure, argument, (aka what the questions are asking) etc. and end up losing myself. Does anyone else have a problem with this? And if so, how did you combat It? Did you just try to keep on reminding yourself to zoom out? Cause that's what I do but It definitely takes getting used to since I've been reading the same way for like 20 years now....

Also, I was wondering if you guys ever get distracted whilst studying? Haha so I don't feel alone. What distracts you? Sometimes I read magazine articles or take my phone off airplane mode and respond to texts. Sometimes I check Twitter. Sometimes I try to do some online shopping/browsing.

    Hi guys.

So, I've been having several mental breakdowns lately because I'm realizing I might not be ready to take the LSAT. I'm believing I shouldn't take it until I'm scoring within my range and am wondering if I should take the extra months to do it in September or June. I was supposed to take it last June, but at the time, I honestly underestimated how hard the test was and that it would take me a minute to figure out which strategies to use and etc. I really want to do well. Especially considering the fact that my GPA is well below median of my dream school (3.2 average) and I want to ensure I'm scoring in the late 160s. Right now, I'm PTing in the early 160s.

Anyway, I am aiming for 170+ and even though I'm considering postponing my applications for a year, I still think about my age silly I know, but I am 23 right now and will be 24 by the time I get in if I postpone and I feel like I'm too old and need to just take the test, apply and get my life together right now. I've been out of school for a year and a half, adding good experience to my resume (ex: I work in a music licensing firm and aim to practice music/IP law), but man, I don't know.

Everyone is telling me I'm stressing out and should just take it. But I can't help, but think WHAT IF...

Let me know what you guys think, maybe it'll help me reach a decision.

    Thank you!

    Hey guys,

If you haven't noticed (though I'm sure you have), we've been having some issues with weird spam as of late. I've been instructing users to use the "flag" button when they see it, but it wasn't working on mobile.

We recently put in a fix to allow it to work on mobile. You may need to clear your cache if you're using the browser (http://classic.7sage.com/clear-cache/), but it's now working!

If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is the flag button:

I just wanted to publicly praise @"David.Busis" and the incredible difference the admissions package has made in my cycle! If anyone is even remotely thinking about purchasing it, have no more hesitation!! I firmly believe the admissions package has made all the difference in my cycle thus far. I just got in at UC Irvine today and I KNOW that my PS/Why UCI/Resume made ALL the difference!

I understand why the other answer choices are wrong.

But I have a problem with confirming that answer choice E is correct.

E: The only offer that Sal made to Veronica was not a legitimate one. Thus, regardless of whether Sal made the offer in jest, there is no valid contract between them.

My problem with E is the open possibility that Veronica made an offer to Sal. If that's the case, even though the offer Sal made to Veronica is invalid, you can't be certain that there is no valid contract between them, because an offer made by Veronica to Sal would still be a contract between them.

Am I supposed to ignore this possibility because this is a "most" helps to justify question? Can anyone help me out here?

I was excited that I'd scored a 170 on PTs a few weeks ago, but instead of going higher, my score has only dropped since. I am aiming for a 171-172. I'll take the test on the 10th.

LG is typically my strongest section, RC next strongest, and LR my weakest. RC can vary widely, from -1 to -4 or -5. LR used to be my strong suit (once I scored -2 out of both sections) but I have fallen backwards.

Does anyone have advice on how to get my score back again? Part of me thinks my issue is anxiety, but studying is definitely easier for me than trying to decrease my stress.

    Thanks!

    Hey all,

Another RC topic here. I've only been drilling from early PT's, PT 35 being the latest. I've only taken full timed PTs from the 30s and 40s. I've heard that RC becomes more challenging, LG becomes a bit more straightforward, and LR stays about the same? For all y'all who've taken a more extensive number of PT's, would you agree with this?

Just wondering if I should move my focus to more recent tests.

Also I sometimes procrastinate by beginning new discussions.

    Thanks !
