Help with Logic Game Setup

Hello,

I am confused with the setup for this logic game. What would it look like?

There are exactly six computers - P, Q, R, S, T, and U - on a small network. Exactly one of those computers was infected by a virus from outside the network, and that virus was then transmitted between computers on the network. Each computer received the virus exactly once. The following pieces of information concerning the spread of the virus have been established:

-No computer transmitted the virus to more than two other computers on the network.

-S transmitted the virus to exactly one other computer on the network.

-The computer that transmitted the virus to R also transmitted it to S.

-Either R or T transmitted the virus to Q.

-Either T or U transmitted the virus to P.

I had a hard time with the questions because my setup was confusing me!! Thank you!! #help

Some background information first: I took the LSAT in November and received a 155. I had been studying on my own for 6+ months and with a tutor for two of those months. My PT's then were averaging 157 but I did not follow the same BR method as 7Sage. My goal LSAT score at the time was a 164 or higher (although then I didn't think either was possible).

Now...

On the diagnostic PT I received an actual score of 159 and a BR score of 164. This is how my sections on the actual played out:

LG- 96%, 22/23

LR1- 72%, 18/25

LR2- 80%, 20/25

RC- 63%, 17/27

Given this score, I feel like I could really improve to even a 170 if I really put my mind to it (I hope I'm not being overly optimistic).

Obviously, RC and LR are my weakness. The harder questions, usually Q's 17+, are also consistently wrong. I am still planning on completing the CC but I want any and all tips, opinions, study schedule, advice, etc.on how to move forward with my studies to really maximize my score.

When BR do you BR every question or just the ones you circled? Also, when writing out each Q do you also write an explanation of the mistake you made the first time so not to make it again?

Any tips for while studying/going through the CC? Should I have review days or anything of the sort?

How can I get these harder Q's right on the first time?

Any and all tips are appreciated!! So happy I found 7Sage and this community! Thanks.

Might come across as a stupid question. I just want to make sure about one thing, can we hand write in the space provided for “print name”, while doing the signature or do we need to edit the pdf and make changes via that. TIA

Thank you for waiting! All video explanations for PrepTest 86 (November 2018 LSAT) are now available!

If you have the Ultimate+ course, the explanations have been automatically added to your account: https://classic.7sage.com/lsat-explanations/ or https://classic.7sage.com/lesson/preptest-86-video-explanations-for-all-questions/

So I used a test over the past week as practice sections / experimental sections for full PTs. Do I enter those technically completed tests into my 7Sage analytics? Or will that skew it all up? For example, I used PT 16 mostly as experimental sections for two PTs I did within a week, and then as timed sections otherwise for practice (also within the same week). Thanks!

How to study..

So i study full time, my study schedule generated by 7sage is around 20h a week, some weeks may be more and some less. My question is if i mostly complete the 20 hours in 4 days (Thursday-Sunday) is that ok? or should i divide them equally to 7 days?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to take my first LSAT this Saturday and I already know I'm not going to get a high score.

My questions is, what can I do or what actions should I take to improve my score the second time around?

I kind of know what i'm weak at but not really.

My highest PT was 155 and I get a consistent 147-149. Honestly, my aim is 155-160.

I badly need access to PT86 in the next couple of days. I have tried contacting book stores in my area, but o won’t get it through them until the day before Saturday’s administration of the lsat. Are there options to purchase access to that one file alone? Thanks

[Edit 3: All done! Total analytics downtime ~ 1.5 hours :) Everything should be working again. Please let us know if you run into any problems]

Hi everyone,

The 7Sage analytics will be offline tonight starting at:

8:30pm Pacific

11:30pm Eastern

During this time you will not be able to score new PrepTests, delete existing PrepTests, or mark questions with a flag. You will be able to view your existing analytics. Maintenance is expected to take three hours, although we hope to get it done sooner.

Sorry for any trouble this may cause!

[Edit 1: Used to expect three hours of downtime, now expecting all night based on latest simulation runs. :(]

[Edit 2: Figured out how to run things faster. Expecting three hours of downtime again :)]

I'm writing my lsat on Saturday and i keep scoring 4 points below my goal score.

With my gpa, a score of mid 150 would make me competitive for the law school i want to get into.

Currently i keep scoring between 151 to 152.

When i BR my score gets to 155+.

Any last minute tips to help me boost up my score a couple points?

It's really frustrating because everytime I do LR the first time around i get -8 to -11, but when i go back to look at the questions i got wrong, the answers which were my second choice are always right.

And as for LG, I'm doing well in terms of accuracy, however I'm still spending 8.5 min on each game. Which makes it difficult to finish the last most difficult game.

This was my first BR using 7Sage's method on the June 2007 test. I haven't BR the other sections yet but my BR score on LR wasn't that much of an improvement compared to my timed score. On my first section timed my score was 18/25 and after BR it was 20/25 and my second session my scores stayed the same with 20/25 on both the timed and the BR section.

Should I be worried that my score increase hasn't improved that much after BR? I'm worried since the BR is supposed to show how much your score could improve.

I still have yet to get through the CC as I'm just on the first diagnostic PT but I have already taken the LSAT before and received a 155. I'm just worried that I didn't see improvement after this BR. I also followed the method closely and for each question that I circled (which was almost all of them) I wrote out an explanation for the stem/stimulus and then using a blank PT wrote why each AC was wrong or right.

So with the LSAT going digital soon, we are entering into a whole new era in a major way. Though I am personally glad to have done my LSAT on paper, this change is long overdue and will ultimately be beneficial for everyone. Inevitably though, it will impact the way we study, and as an LSAT tutor, this is something I've been thinking a lot about. Here's a few things I've come up with, and I'm really interested to know what everyone else thinks!

Opportunities:

Extra time: You won't actually have time added on to your section, but just as good. Added all up, bubbling takes about two minutes for most of us. Not having to bubble, we can bank those couple of minutes to put towards an extra question or two. Major win. Also, no anxiety over bubbling errors! (Also, no actual bubbling errors!)

PT Reports: So this one will take some time and programming, but it's the thing I'm most excited about. Taking your PT's on a screen offers an enormous return in data. I'm imaging a PTing program which accounts not just for your answer choices but for your time management. This will paint a much better picture of your test than just right/wrong answers. If you spend four minutes on a question, it doesn't matter if you get it right or wrong: It's an error. Computer PTing can generate reports with this kind of consideration, and once it's available it's going to be an enormously powerful tool for empirical analysis.

Instant Scoring: No more agonizing wait for scores. Future LSAT testers will correctly look at this as inhumane. The concept of "grey day" will melt into obscurity, an odd terminology no one will understand the meaning of when pulling up old threads. Also, you'll know right away if you need to get back to studying for a retake.

No more "Test Dates": I think this won't be happening until later, but eventually the LSAT will be administered more like the GRE where you just sign up to test pretty much whenever you want. This will make discussions of "aim for your score not your test date" somewhat different, though people will still set personal deadlines that won't be realistic for target scores. Hopefully the added flexibility will be beneficial for this. Also, I think certain test day anxieties will be alleviated. "Test Day" just won't be quite as big an event.

Gamification Potential: This will take some development, but I can't help but think a digital LSAT will be highly gamifiable. I'm imaging PT/drilling software with different options for developing specific skills. Working on time management? Maybe there's a feature for that where the screen changes from white to green to yellow to red as you spend more and more time on a question. Working on more effective POE strategies? Maybe a PT plug-in can show your odds improving from 20% to 25% to 33% to 50% as you eliminate AC's; then as a part of the report we can track your outcomes over time just for 50/50 situations. I could sit here and come up with these all day, but y'all get the idea and Alan would probably prefer I stop!

Speaking of gamification, how about Sage PTs via Twitch?: This could be a cool feature. Watch a Sage take the latest PT live! This could be really cool if anyone has the courage to do it!

Obstacles:

Instant Scoring: This one is maybe a double edged sword. While the instant score return will save a lot of agonizing, it will also rush the decision to cancel or not. This will make for a higher pressure decision without the benefit of reflection and advising.

Transitioning: This will be a short lived con for those of us that came up on paper, but we'll have to reimagine certain procedural things about how we take the test, and this will take time and energy that we'd prefer to invest elsewhere.

New testing issues: Software crashes, screen malfunctions: Hopefully tech issues won't affect many of us, but certain problems feel inevitable, and I'm not sure what kind of solutions are going to be available.

No paper: Okay, this one is a bit observational, but I think it's important. I like being able to feel the test and to mark it and interact with it directly. I think you get scratch paper which is good, but there's something about working via screen that feels detached to me, and I know this will be a factor for many others as well.

No pencils: Again, not all that insightful, but a sad passing for many old school testers. While the pencil isn't really that important, I had enormous fun trying out tons of pencils to find the perfect one (Staedtler Noricas, obviously). The pencil thread will sink into oblivion and only maybe resurface with a chuckle as a relic of the past when things were quaint and simple.

Well, these are a few of the things I've been thinking about. What do you guys think? What have I missed? Overall, I think the opportunities far outweigh the obstacles.

Logic Games not loading on here?

I’m been having an issue with this app since the last update (Version 2.1.1). When I open the logic games tab, it refuses to show me anything other than the discussion board (as in, the discussion board that’s supposed to just be under the discussion tab)... so I am unable to access the LG video walkthroughs. I saw in another thread that someone had a workaround through another tab but nothing i’ve tried has worked for me. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated!

Arguments

Regarding whether other people's argument and conclusion can be used to answer a question(not the author’s) if the author himself did not provide an argument? Since in one lesson, JY said that other people's argument is distinct from the author's argument. So if the author himself just cites other researchers' arguments and conclusions can we use those to answer the questions?

I’m taking the LSAT next week but still really struggling with logic games. Sometimes I’ll just freeze and have no idea what to do with it after making the game board and writing the rules.

Im only a few points shy of my target score and my LR and RC are pretty solid. Is there anything I can do to strengthen logic games in the next week and a half? Any strategies that can help me?

Thanks!
