I think this question really gets at the subtly of the "support" role we have to play to make the relationship P -> C more relevant.

I oscillated between A and E but eventually went with A, primarily because I thought the phrase "shout not be allowed" matched nicely with the "government should ban". Even during BR, I stuck to my original choice, which tells me I clearly don't understand this question. I do see that (E) has a conditional statement Promote -> Healthy and that the Healthy is denied because of the premises given in the stimulus but I felt that was also similar for (A). (A) has "people doing things that endanger their health".

So my thought for (E) was that, even though it does suggest that "If not healthy, ad should not promote", it doesn't necessarily link the "government should ban" aspect. This is such a curve breaker question (and there is no JY explanation for this) that I was really hoping someone could shed some light on this question.

If possible, could anyone share their reasoning/understanding of this question?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello Everyone. Quick question, JY speaks of the best approach/framework to a Social Science Passage as being Phenom/Hypo; do any of you happen to know what are the best approaches/frameworks to use for Law, Natural Sciences and Humanities? I think Natural Science maybe be Phenom/Hypo also, but just wanted to have a sounding board to see if I'm headed in the right direction? Thanks ALL!

I chose (C) assuming that "hope" is a certain effect that can translate into a medical effect. Now, I see that is an unwarranted assumption. But as for (D), I found the term, "the medical treatment the patient is receiving" too vague and I didn't know whether it was referencing to the alternative medicine or orthodox medicine.

Could someone help me with their reasoning as to why (D) is correct?

Thanks a lot in advance!

For strengthening questions, how much does it need to strengthen the stimulus for it to be correct. For example, weakening questions, as long as it casts doubt on the support, I can weaken the argument. Does this also apply for strengthening questions?

I am almost done the CC. How do I fool proof LG? Do I do it with the games I have trouble with on my PT's, or I just fool proof any games I have trouble with, aside from doing the games on the Pt's? Basically, my question is, is fool proofing separate from doing my PT's?

Hi everyone! We are changing this week's call for PT60 to Thursday at 8pm EST. There is an Admission webinar on Tuesday night that some of us would like to attend so we're moving the call. Please show up, even if you are tired and don't feel like it....your brain will thank you for it!

Here's what to do:

Take PT60 then BR on your own.

Submit questions you'd like to go over here: https://goo.gl/forms/pxZVdh6THytU2way2

Note: We will try to limit the calls to under 2 hours. We will review LR questions first and only review RC if we have time. We will not be reviewing LG on the call.

This step is important: Come prepared to speak through how you approached the question you submitted. If more than one of us had trouble on the same question, we can each have an opportunity to speak through our thought process/which choices we were stuck between. The rest of the group then discusses.

Add side braid#1597 so that I can see if you're online when we go live for the call and make sure you get to the right place in the forum.

The best advice is to wait until you are "ready" to take the test! The greatest gift is to take the test and achieve your score!

For some of us, that didn’t happen on our first take.

What happens if after taking the test and the experience leaves you stressed thinking you weren’t ready?

Before you get your score, please consider doing a thorough post-take written analysis of your experience. As recommended to me by the Sages in my attempts to match my PT scores to Actual test scores, I have seen significant improvement by following their advice:)

There are 2 aspects post-take that are paramount to gain from the experience…

-How did I procedurally take the test?

o Was my pre-test routine sufficient to provide the best testing experience?

o Was my timing strategy on point - Did I skip difficult LR questions, RC passages & LG games efficiently?

o Did I let a rough patch undermine my confidence in my ability?

What were my weaknesses that caused me to lose confidence?

o What LR questions, RC passages, LG games cost me time or points?

o Did I try a new strategy too close to test date that I hadn’t made instinctual - to think more about the strategy than what the test presented?

o How did I handle questions that are my known weakness and what can I do to drill them to remove that insecurity?

I learned so much from my previous takes! The first take is a blur - I had no clue what I was doing even with all of my prep to take it when I was ready. My 2nd & 3rd takes were exciting because I saw the differences in my understanding not just on certain specific aspects of the test but on a global understanding of how to conquer the test.

Hope you feel the same way I do with no regrets about being "Ready"... If you achieve your score, then LS application focus! If you under-preformed, then you have a game plan.

If a retake is on your horizon, hope this helps :)

All the best on your scores!!

If a question says, 'if blank comes before blank, but all other conditions remain in effect"....All other conditions refers to the game rules and/or any rules that were specific to a previous question as well?

Am I the only one that feels like reading about conditional reasoning messes up my head .. feel like just skipping this chapter ? feel like I'm more able to solve a question without diagramming as the conditional reasoning showed me how to

Hey everyone!

I'm having trouble with this particular question. It is an MBT question, and while I was BR, I read it without translating and was able to pick the right answer correctly, mainly by the elimination method. I tried translating it nonetheless, and it actually confused me even more. I don't know if I translated it incorrectly, but it just seemed to me that the right answer (B) was kind of a subjective statement when it says "It fits more closely than". Could we actually reach that valid conclusion through translation? If so, how did would you translate it? Isn't that statement too wide? Has anyone faced the same problem regarding translation, in the sense that sometimes it is easier to find the answer without translating?

Any help is very appreciated!

RC Help!

So I'm signing up for 7sage today. It seems like this program is great for LR and LG, but I am really struggling with RC for some reason. I took the Sept. 2017 test and really seemed to have a tough time (to be fair, that judges passage was impossible!).

I self studied with a book (cant remember what brand) that covered all three sections- it was one of the highest rated on Amazon (definitely not a Kaplan one), and then I also purchased the Powerscore LR and LG bibles. I also purchased the newest collection of LSAT exams. I took my first PT shortly after I began studying, and did pretty well on the RC section (I think it was -5). Unfortunately, my RC score has continued to decrease each time I take a PT.

I know that the RC sections have become increasingly difficult over the past few years, but I can't justify that to be the sole factor for my decrease. (My last PT before the LSAT was around -13, but I was exhausted and burnt out so that definitely did not help.) I noticed that I did not make any marks/notes in my first RC PT, and now I cannot stop myself from taking notes in the RC section...

Anyway to stop a long post from getting even longer, I was wondering if anyone could tell me about 7Sage's approach to RC. I feel pretty comfortable with LG and know I am decent at LR (but there's definitely room to improve). I have never had issues with RC in school, so I am feeling pretty discouraged. I scored a 157 on my first PT, and went down to a 151 right before the LSAT last week (I took 7 PTs in total). My LG has increased substantially, and my LR has slightly increased, so this huge decrease has come solely from RC.

I am hoping to score in the 160s in December. I would be thrilled with anything160 or above. Thank you in advanced for your responses!

Hi All! Hope you are all studying or awaiting your scores!!

I am planning to write in December 2017 but if my scores are not within the range I wish I will be writing in February 2018. I wanted to know everyones opinion regarding the February LSAT.

Has anyone on this forum ever taken the LSAT and encountered a difference from the other PTs or other exams they have taken? I am aware this is an undisclosed exam therefore many of us would not be able to answer this question unless you have taken the February exam. Please let me know what everyones opinions are! I appreciate everyones point of view!!

Hey guys,

I have two questions!

I'd really appreciate your input regarding whether I should print out a fresh copy for RC blind review. Is it as helpful to do so as it is for LR blind review?

RC Drilling

Do you guys drill RC from earlier PT's (1~30). If so, do you drill by passage (8min45s) or do a full RC section then BR?

Thank you so much!

Hey guys,

I was wondering what PTs people used to master the logic games using the fool proof method? I would like to be time efficient and if there are certain tests that will help me master them at the beginning, I would love to start with those. Nonetheless, I will eventually do 2-3 logic games or a LG section per day leading up the test.

I know there's a LG bundle, however I plan to write in December and would like to use the next two weeks to get close to my target score for that section (-2/-1). So basically, I'd like to know if there are certain preptests (ie.18-35) that may assist me in this. I struggle with timing for the most part with LG right now, and also have trouble with the games that have FL/conditional reasoning.

Any suggestions? Let me know what you guys have tried and what has worked for you.

Spoiler alert: Doesn't break the bank.

I had a bad habit of using my eraser on LG so I........dramatically took the eraser off my pencil. Took a couple times of me still flipping the pencil over but now I'm crossing out instead of erasing (and actually making less mistakes).

Namaste.

I know LSAC is giving cancelled Florida LSAT takers the chance to switch to December for free, but are they rescheduling the September one? It is not clear on the website. If they are, is anyone just going to wait until they know the reschedule date to decide whether to switch to December? This is so frustrating studying without knowing when the test is :/

Hey everyone,

This is my first post here... I've been kind of been hanging out in the 7sage shadows for a couple months now. I'm looking for some advice on how to process and/or handle what happened to me during (and leading up) to test day.

So my LSAT nightmare started last Tuesday. I was granted accommodations (extra time and a small group setting) in August. On my accommodation letter it had the name and phone number of my supervisor on test day. The letter instructed me to call this individual at least 48 hrs in advance of the test. This letter, as well as my ticket, had Saturday's test date listed on it. I called my supervisor on Tuesday of last week and he informed me that I was in fact writing on Monday (Sept. 18) because that's when he will be acting as supervisor. Ok. Fine. The OSAC information regarding accommodations states that test dates and times can change and that's why you're to report to a supervisor beforehand. The supervisor also informed me that LSAT would not be issuing me a new ticket with Monday's test date since I had been talking to him. Fair enough.

So Sunday night, the supervisor calls me (at 10:45 pm) and the first thing he says to me is "are you sure you're writing tomorrow"? Cue panic. He assures me everything will be fine and to meet him and my proctor tomorrow in front of a particular building at 8:30 am.

The first thing I do the morning of the test is lock my keys in my car. I let it go pretty quickly as I was already in LSAT world in my mind. I was determined to not let anything get in between me and this test. So my proctor shows up early (around 8:15 am) and we get to talking. Turns out they were ready to accommodate me on Saturday and even went looking for me/called my name out a bunch of times. Kind of annoying. But oh well... I kept telling myself: I'm here now right? Not going to let this get in my way.

So the supervisor shows up just after 9 am. The two other students who were writing with me cancelled, and one sabbath observer showed up who they had never even heard of. By the time they tracked him down, got me a room, and basically got their shit together.. it was after 11 am. So there goes all the food and liquid intake I had been planning for optimal performance. Still, I did not let this break me. I was ready for the test.

The room they stuck me in with the proctor was in probably the busiest building on this college campus and I swear the walls were made of paper. There was constant traffic in the halls... people were blaring music outside. I could literally hear all the conversations going on in the offices surrounding the room. Security was going up and down the halls with they walkies going off. Speakerphone convos were going on right outside the door. It was CONSTANT noise. I couldn't focus on keeping one line of the question stem straight, let alone an entire question.

Now keep in mind, one of my accommodations is small group setting because distractions can seriously affect my ability to concentrate and essentially remain sane. I tried to fight it but with ten minutes left in my first section (LR1), I cracked. Full blown panic attack. The whole nine. I had answered probably 5 questions by this point but with the distractions it became clear to me that all the breathing exercises in the world weren't going to get me out of this one. It was bad. The proctor stopped the time. Turns out she had been texting with the supervisor trying to get me another room the whole time because of the extreme noise levels.

By the time they were able to secure me a new and quieter room, it was over an hour later. So post-panic attack and sobbing for about an hour waiting for a room, I was left with essentially doing the whole first section in 10 minutes. I probably guessed about 3/4 of the entire section because of the time constraint. At this point I was ready to walk. But I gave the second section a go.. and I swear that LG section was sent to me from up above lol. It gave me my grove back and I don't feel super horrible about the rest of the test, despite the nightmare that preceded it.

My issue and question is whether or not I should report this to LSAC. They explicitly say that they will not be responsible for issues with test centres that are out of their control. I'm not super into the idea of cancelling my score because I want to see how I did on sections 2-5 of the test. My biggest fear is having them penalize me for the irregularities. The supervisor said that he will report it all as a formality, but I do not really trust him (for reasons that I think are pretty obvious lol). I'm not going to lie though, I was pretty crushed when I realized that my first section was not experimental. My biggest fear is seeing something like a 140 (or less) appear as my score. I'm just so torn on what to do. I've already signed up for December but I'm just super bummed out because I feel like this could have been avoided. I should have just shown up on Saturday. I'm beating myself up hard over this and I don't know what to do.

Sorry for the long winded post. Any advice would be much appreciated, just please try to be respectful.

Thanks!!

Improving RC

I am going through the curriculum and get about 1 wrong per passage. I usually complete a passage & its questions under 8.5 minutes. The low resolution summaries have been very helpful but I still get -1 per passage. I am just wondering if my results will improve overtime as I do more RC practices or should I do something else to improve my accuracy?

What has been the biggest help for you?
