So i think i have a pretty good understanding of the difference between an analogy and an example. But i ran across a question in LR that hinged on the difference [PT53.S3.Q24] and although i chose the correct answer i had to think for an extra few seconds about it. I wanted to ask if anyone could draw a binary cut between them. So i dont find myself second guessing again.

I was a part of my school's honors program, and the classes were significantly more difficult than my upper division courses. My GPA still ended up being pretty good, but the lower grades consistently came from the honors classes. I'm not sure if it's better to point that out or leave it be.
I know every school is different so this may be different depending on the school. Anyway, I was looking at the University of Texas, one of my top choices, and their ED gives instate residents that are accepted $10k a year. But my question is, does that restrict me from obtaining any other merit scholarships from UT? Just curious...
Thanks!
I know there are a few other threads like this but I didn't see a very concise answer
I understand that few means some, most are not
A (-s-) B
and A --m-> /B
This is 1-49%
The negation would be all...not,
A --> /B (not 100%)
& it is not the case that (A --m-> /B)
It doesn't seem like with all cases of negation you can just pop off the / and call it a negation so I just want to double check
Hi 7sage Tutors!
I have gone through the Grammar lessons in CC. I need to make sure I am reading the RC statements the right way. While reading RC, I try to figure out the subject, predicate for each of the sentences. And then try to imitate JY, the way he reads while explaining in the lesson. I do it in my mind as if I am explaining myself.
I feel this is making me thinking and get involved with the content. Comprehension has improved but it is taking more time while reading.
Will the time taken reduce after practising this way for a few more passages? And what and how to drill Reading comprehension passages?
Thanks :)
Hey all. :)
I am just about to start prepping for the LSAT. I have known for many years that I want to work in white collar/financial crimes in NYC, where I am from. However, I don't want to work for the private sector---I want to work for the state or federal government.
What can I do in terms of internships and classes I can take to make this into a reality? I would like to end up at the SEC, FDIC, FinCEN, or similar. Thanks.
Have a meeting tomorrow with an established lawyer who practices in both the US and Canada.
What questions should I ask him?? :)
I recently got into an accident when I was a passenger in a car share service. The driver who hit my uber has insurance and I recently got settlement money out of the whole ordeal (basically money to cover health insurance since I went to the hospital for a check up to make sure I was ok and some compensation for the inconvenience)
Does this count as a lawsuit or something I need to say yes to in the CF portion of apps if I'm asked if I was party to something?

Hi everyone,
So this Monday will be my first time taking a PT at 12:30, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what I should eat so that I don't get hungry. I'm imagining it will have to something heavy. Thanks in advance.
It's not a "no" guys :D I have a chance, this is super exciting for me. As a splitter (2.8gpa/171 LSAT) I didn't think I'd make it to even the waitlist...
Guys...guys! I have a shot at U.Mich!!
Thank you so much 7Sage for getting me as far as you have! I love you guys.
Hey, many people across the internet have been getting their acceptences or waitlists from U of M recently. I was sparked by this to double check my email.
I just found out a few hours ago that 3 days ago on Valentine's Day I was accepted into University of Michigan. The email came from law.jd.admissions@umich.edu, but for some reason didn't make it past my email's filters. I recommend double checking your email or status checker. I'll certainly be keeping an even closer eye on them from now on.
Apologies if this is not the right category or if this feature is already available and I'm just not seeing it.
It would be great if there was a way to save or bookmark specific comments within a discussion thread. I know we can follow an entire discussion or quote specific comments/users, but there are some amazing nuggets of advice from members that I would like to save for quick reference without having to dig through threads, etc.
So far I've just been noting advice down and saving comments in a word document, and this is working fine for me, but I thought it would be more convenient to just be able to do that on here directly.
Hey all,
Seems like a lot of waitlists are being sent out today. I just got waitlisted at both UMich and Columbia. My numbers make me pretty competitive for both schools so I'm kind of wondering - what gives?
In both e-mails they seem to be stressing the huge number of qualified applicants this cycle, but I'm wondering if they say that every cycle. Then again, some of us saw the data from earlier this year that the number of 170+ scorer applicants increased dramatically this cycle. I'm also wondering if it's because I applied to some of these schools sort of late in the cycle, and I would have been admitted had I sent my application earlier.
Any thoughts? Concerns? Anyone else getting waitlisted this weekend???
Best,
Paul
This forum has been very helpful in my prep. I am going into the next cycle as a splitter. My GPA is 3.15 and my LSAT score is a 177. I would like to go to school in Chicago. I am having trouble figuring out what to do with my ED. Is there a point to apply ED to Northwestern since it seems that the whole point of it on their end is to poach people above both their medians? Would EDing UChicago be a waste considering my GPA? I wouldn’t mind being admitted to either school, I just want to maximize my chances.
I just want to make sure I'm understanding the %s and #s correctly.
Some...not means there exists 0-99% of the two ideas. Some dogs are not friendly means 0-99% of dogs are friendly. 1-100% of dogs are not friendly. there exists at least one dog which is not friendly. Whereas saying all dogs are friendly would mean that 0 dogs are not friendly. 100% of dogs are friendly.
Original statement: Some alphabets are not phonetic.
Lawgic: A (--s--) /P
% meaning: 1-100% of alphabets are not phonetic. 0-99% of alphabets are phonetic.
Number meaning: there exists at least one alphabet which is not phonetic (A & /P)
Negation: A --->P
All alphabets are phonetic.
100% of alphabets are phonetic.
0 alphabets are not phonetic.
@Alex for everything he has done for this community, and for me. When I first started on 7Sage around Nov of 2016 I was a clueless, lost, and hopeless individual. I had no idea what I was doing, what blind review was, and how to study efficiently. I started to get really active on the 7Sage forums, and @Alex was always able to shed valuable perspective on my situations. He has the ability to make sure we hear every side of an argument, and to make sure we understand the larger implications of everything we are doing. Not to mention his ability to always link relevant and helpful webinars, lessons, or websites to help solve your problem. Because of @Alex, and this community, I was equipped with the best resource to study for the LSAT and eventually beat the test.
I just want to give a shout out to @Alex to say thank you for all that you do. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the 7Sage community who appreciates your continued efforts in helping us all to succeed! Stay awesome!
I know that many means some. Can several be used interchangeably with many?
Hi there!
Quick question - are we supposed to respond to acceptances and scholarship offers received via email?
Thanks!
Does anyone know will the ABA release the employment numbers for the Class of 2017?

I hope you're ready or gearing up to start PTing for the June 2018 LSAT. Join us this Tuesday if you are finished with the CC.
Provisional Schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=f3n8s2l60gkgm2ju8m8kk4vhn4@group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York
Note:
For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able on your own; then join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.
Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it.” KEEP THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOURSELF. Win the argument with your reasoning.
These groups work best when folks from ALL stages of prep and with all different goals join in! Not just for "super-preppers" and definitely not just for the casual LSATer (does such a person exist?).
The only expectation anyone has for these calls is for you to have fun and ask questions as you desire. We are just a bunch of LSAT lovers who gather via GoToMeeting and intellectually slaughter each test.
Mark any questions you wish to go over on the spreadsheet below!

Hello 7sage club,
Just had a quick question about the blind review method. I'm in post-7sage curriculum and just started doing my PT's. I find myself exhausted by the time I get to the end. How much time is it ok to take to do the blind review? For example, I was thinking of taking an hour break after I got done with all my sections and then going back and reviewing everything or should I just push through it and immediately review after I'm done with the PT?
Hi Guys,
I was going through PT1 Reading comp passage. In that JY has recommended to watch some videos on Art if you are unfamiliar with the various terminologies of Art. Can anyone suggest me some good youtube channels/documentaries to watch for better understanding of Art?
Thanks in Advance :)
Hi all:
I have a question regarding the core curriculum. How did you complement it/with what [other] resources? For instance, I know that with some other LSAT study tools, "homework" is an incorporated part of the curriculum. But I'm not sure that 7sage has something similar, at least not that I have found. So how did you go about creating that for yourself, if at all (and if not, why.)? I've gotten a chance to look through the Question Bank and even do some practice drills there but am still looking for more structure. Tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I'm hoping someone wouldn't mind explaining the application cycle to me. Honestly, the minimum that I know is that applications are rolling, so it's best to get your applications in early. But when exactly do all applications open? (or is it different for each school?) And in how far advance do we get access to the essay questions? And is there a general date/month that you should have all your apps in in order to have a good chance for scholarship money?
I apologize if these are really basic questions. If so, I'd appreciate someone showing me a webinar or a site that breaks it all down.
Thanks a lot :)
Hi everyone,
I'm a longtime lurker and first time poster on 7sage. I noticed that a lot of people tend to only use the free explanation videos that 7sage offers for logic games, or the starter pack, but they are always unsure if the higher packages are worth it. I just wanted to make this thread to give my experience as well as my thank you to 7sage and the community.
In short, I think the higher packages are 100% worth it and for me, the reason was JY and his explanations for every question. Anyone who has watched enough of his explanation videos will see the confidence he has in eliminating wrong answers and that confidence, I found, was contagious.
I met every question with the confidence (and sass) of JY and found that the test is a lot less intimidating that way. It wasn't just that everyone answer was wrong, it was that it was so wrong there's no way you could pick it. Throughout my test, I had my own little JY in my head helping me, with a constant "there you go" whenever I found the right answer.
So I wanted to thank JY and the community for helping me to get into law school and for everyone who lurks the forums and wonders if the course is worth it, trust me it is.
