Need some advice

I have been pting around a 155/156 for the last few weeks. My goal is a 157+ and I am taking it in October and November.

My breakdown from yesterday:

LR: 14/25

LR: 19/26

LG: 21/23

RC: 14/26

So at this point I am trying to close the gap on my LR sections and bring up RC. I typically struggle with SA questions and flaw. If I could get that RC score up and close the gap in LR I would be golden. Any tips on how to get those scores up and stay consistent? I have gone through the CC and I typically drill weak spots, do timed sections, and about one 5 section PT a week. I would love to be PTing at a 160 so I can have some wiggle room come test day.

Thanks so much!

Hey! Does anyone know where I can find a copy of The Loophole in LSAT Logical Reasoning? I ordered a copy on amazon, but it won't ship until the end of September/ beginning of October. Please let me know, If you guys know of any book stores in NYC or online that sells it. Thanks in advance!

Can anyone who took the June 2019 share some insight into how the writing section went? Do they provide you with a link to log in and take this section whenever you'd like? Do they somehow supervise? Any insights would be helpful. I am scheduled took take the test a week from today.

Decided that I should get a tablet to start practicing and PTing since paper exams are long gone.

My SO and I agreed to go half/half on a tablet since she will start doing more digital art stuff. I've read the Fire Tablet is as close as it gets without spending Microsoft Surface money. She has been using Wacom here and there and wants to get one, I don't care as long as I can practice, she can do her thing once I'm done and we don't spend hundreds of dollars. Y'all have experience with tablets that can do all those things?

PT 86 Game with mining. greyson, headquaters and krona.

rule one contradicts with the correct answer for the first question of the game. I looked at the explanation but it really don't solve my confusion.

"rule says that headquarters must be visited in between two different mine locations"

the answer choice B is contradicting the same rule. please explain may be i am reading it wrong. thanks!

Hi everyone,

On Wednesday, September 4, at 9:00 PM ET, I'll host a webinar with Shawn McShay, the Assistant Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid at Boston College School of Law. Dean McShay will give us a short presentation on Boston College School of Law, and then I'll ask him some of the questions you're dying to know:

  • How do you choose from equally qualified applicants?
  • What factors can applicants control, and what factors are out of their control?
  • How do you made decisions about merit-based financial aid?
  • You’ll get a chance to ask your questions at the end.

:warning: You’ll have to register for this webinar in advance.

:cookie: After the webinar, we’ll award one attendee a free Edit Once (see https://classic.7sage.com/admissions/enroll).

:warning: The webinar will be recorded, and we may post it on our site or on YouTube. We may also share the audio on our podcast.

→ Please register for the webinar here: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/8f1ed3f7bdb87227d746f627e8486654

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

If you want to ask a question, you should connect via a computer instead of calling in. We also recommend that you join the webinar a few minutes early and test your microphone.

    Hey there!

My question is in regards to early decision. After looking at the law school predictor, I was hoping to gain some insight into when it would be a good idea to apply for ED. Some of the schools in am interested in, based on my LSAT(163) and GPA (3.44), have me at a 85 percent chance of getting into the school. Is that too high of a percentage to apply for ED? I don't want to forgo any scholarship money by applying ED, but I also want to get into that particular school. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

    Advice - study habits

    Hey guys!

I discovered 7sage 2 months ago after I wrote the June LSAT, I previously used Kaplan when I was first studying for the LSAT and it seems like some of the methods I've learned from them is still engraved in my brain (they're not the best methods and they don't seem to help). Did anyone else experience this? If so, what did you guys do to switch over methods?

Hi everyone! I am currently in Colombia working and studying for the LSAT. I just graduated from college and I'm here with a Fulbright grant which is keeping me quite busy. I was hoping to study hard enough with 7sage to get the score I want by November so I can apply this cycle, but I have decided to wait and study and then apply early next year since i don't think I can get the score I want by then.

I already reached out to my professors to write my letters of rec and they have agreed. I was wondering- can i still create an LSAC account now and have them upload their recs? Will they be saved during this year if I officially apply next year? Or do I have to ask them to send it next year when I am applying officially?

    Thank you guys :)

Hey friends, I'm writing in November and am almost through the CC. I've been seeing lots of improvement on the LG (generally 1 or 2m over the target time and -1 for each set), but I haven't foolproofed them yet.

How would you recommend that I best go about foolproofing to maximize the time I have left before the exam? Should I foolproof the games in the CC problem sets and/or all games from PT20-35 before starting to do timed PTs?

    Any advice/experience is welcome. Thanks!

    Test center reassignment

They reassigned my test center from UCSB to the Hyatt centric downtown & I was wondering if anyone knows whether in similar occasions they offer free parking to test takers and what the difference is taking it at a hotel vs school

Hey everyone! rather than buying a $500 surface pro tablet to take PT's on, i've been searching for a cheaper, effective alternative. Preferably a tablet in the $100-$200 range that is compatible with google chrome (for 7sage of course) and meets the same screen specifications (10 Inches). If anyone has found a substitute or has any suggestions, please don't be shy!

    thanks!

    Hi everyone,

Just not sure if you have any tips, advice, personal experiences that you could share with respect to how you met your blind review scores for LR...

Right now my section scores really fluctuate - I can get anywhere between 15 - 20 right, and I am getting between -2 and under in BR. Has anyone else experienced this? Its quite annoying and frustrating and I dont want to lose hope on my progress lol.

    thanks in advance

    Hi all.

I am in a bit of a situation and I’m hoping I can hear some advice from people in the same boat as me (and understand this test and what it all means) because it’s not always super helpful to talk to friends/family who don’t really understand (even though they’re really supportive! - you know what I mean).

I took the LSAT once in June, and I scored in the range below my personal target range (which will get me into the schools I want). Wasn’t bummed about my score but wasn’t ecstatic or anything. Summer happened, and I was burnt out from studying so I didn’t put that much effort this second time around. My upcoming test is Sep 21. I don’t feel horribly about it, but I just don’t think it’ll be THE improvement I need in order to get into my target schools.

That being said, what should I do? Go on with the Sep exam and see how it goes? Don’t take the risk and withdraw and take it again later? The biggest conflict right now is that if September doesn’t go as well as planned, I am currently in a one-year intensive Masters program and also conducting research.

Granted, I have a bit of flexibility in my schedule (the program/work load/time commitment is manageable, but nonetheless still a graduate program), and squeezing in test prep would make my schedule FULL. And hectic, lol.

Should I take it in two weeks? In a few months? Or after I graduate from my program in May (I’m worried that’s too big of a break from studying)? Ah!

Thanks for reading. And I wish you all the very best of luck in this stressful but hopefully worthwhile journey.

This is a question mostly geared towards Blind Review

So my highest PT is a 155 and my highest Blind Review is a 165. I almost always fix a ton of my issues on LG because I think it's the simplest to improve. Nevertheless, I don't seem to really improve a lot on other sections. I've improved a lot on LR on my LSAT journey, but RC has been probably the toughest challenge. I think it's a mix of me not circling questions for blind review, and then if I circle a lot of questions I think to myself "well this logic is just fine, keep the answer".

There's obviously many factors in considering what kind of LR/RC question it is, but more often than not I just can't seem to contradict my logic either in the moment when i'm taking the test or when i'm looking at review. What would be a good method for counterbalancing complete confidence in something vs being overtly suspicious that the answer is wrong? I know from the CC one way of figuring out if NA questions are suspect is by negating them and seeing if it wrecks the argument, do similar methods exist for other frequent LR/RC questions?

    Hi there!

I just took my first PT ever and I found it super mentally taxing. It was difficult to stay focused throughout the entire exam and I was always rushing for time T_T. My score was -6 RC, -4 LR, -5 LG and -8 for the last LR. By the time I reached section 4 I found it super hard to focus. Are there some tips that you can share with me to help me improve my speed and concentration?

    Thanks!

I’ve heard there is a “LSAT” watermark thing on the middle of the scrap paper. How big is it? (I’ve heard it was like 2 inches large?) Was it distracting? What did it look like? Could you write over it with a pencil? Did it affect your LG set up and questions?

Also, with the scrap paper, if you do your logic game on the right side page of the booklet, you could always write on the left side page too if you ran out of room on the right side page?

    Hi all,

I was wondering what your thoughts are on writing a personal statement about overcoming mental health issues. I've heard mixed responses as to whether a PS on this topic is a good idea given the stigma that surrounds mental health, the possibility that law schools might question your abilities, etc. I personally think that if framed correctly, writing about overcoming mental health issues and what you learned from it can highlight positive characteristics such as strength or persistence, but I'm not sure if admissions committees would agree.

    Any thoughts?

ill be done with the CC sometime this week and I am taking the October LSAT, i was wondering how often a week should i be taking a practice test and is one a day to much?

Have more test centers been hotels in recent years? Seems like maybe they used to be at universities more, but I'm not sure. Anyway, if a hotel is a possible venue, any ideas for how to take PTs in the same environment or something very much like it?
